Thank You, Seattle Sounders FC and OL Reign! 

We have been honored to work with Seattle Sounders FC and OL Reign on events helping to raise the visibility of transgender/nonbinary youth and their families. The team invited youth from our community to participate in a soccer clinic, attend the raising of a rainbow flag at the stadium, and even join players on Lumen Field for the Sounders pre-game ceremony during the annual pride match. 

At the soccer clinic, under the expert guidance of the players, over a dozen elementary schoolers received invaluable coaching tips and tricks. From honing their dribbling skills to mastering accurate passing techniques, everyone had a ton of fun!

At TransFamilies, we believe in the transformative power of community. We know that when youth feel welcomed and supported by supportive adults, they’re happier and healthier — that’s why we value partnerships like this one so much. By putting on this event, Seattle Sounders FC helped trans/nonbinary youth and their siblings build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.  

This collaboration underlined the importance of providing opportunities for all youth to learn from role models and follow their dreams.
