My almost 5 year old old has been telling us she’s a girl pretty much since she has had words.  She’s known she has a penis and has justified it with “princesses have penises.” Recently she’s started to say “I don’t have a penis.” And “I have a vagina.” When I try to talk to her about it, she just says she doesn’t want to talk about it.  I’m not really sure what’s going on, but I want to be as supportive as I can and give her a safe space to talk about it.  Anyone else have something similar happen or any tips for getting through this?
