Hello, given the news of this morning, my husband and I are looking to get our paperwork in order so we can leave the country with our children next year.  My (7-year-old) daughter’s name was (legally) changed a year ago, and she has medical documentation of gender transition, but we did not go through with changing her gender marker on her birth certificate or changing her name on her social security card.  Does anyone know if we have to go through the step of changing her name on her SS card before we can apply for a passport in her new name?
