So that made me wonder, how did your child tell you that they are trans?

We were very lucky that our 4yo was able to say very directly one day “Mom, you think that I’m a boy, but I’m a girl on the inside.” We were walking through Target and all I could think to say was “Thank you for telling me. I’ll be sure that dad knows, too.” We didn’t know anything about trans people, let along trans children at the time. But we learned quickly!
