My kid transitioned months ago. My parents (her grandparents) are struggling with it. My father refuses to see my daughter; my mother has kind of come around, because she loves her grandkid first and foremost, but doesn’t understand at all. They have read nothing I’ve sent them, but have said they are willing to go to counseling to…try to be deal with it? Try to understand my child? I’m not really sure of what they want to accomplish in therapy and the more I think about it, I’m not sure this is the right approach. I guess my question is: Are there resources out there that you could suggest that might be appropriate for grandparents? Any families had grandparents go to therapy to deal with understanding their grandkid’s transition? TransFamilies – have you ever considered running a group for grandparents or doing a webinar specifically for them? 😉
