So, when a celebrity couple with a combined 30 million Instagram followers announces that they plan to use the pronoun “she” instead of “he” to refer to their 12-year-old child, the simple, open-armed act of parental love is a breathtaking step forward.”I’m not, as a rule, very excited about celebrity endorsements, but pragmatically, they have a wider reach and more influence on a chunk of the population than I ever could — I appreciate their open attitude and their willingness to speak up on behalf of their child and other trans kids.
