I’m having a difficult time explaining to others (like Grandparents) why they shouldn’t use our child’s birth name when referring to events that happened in the past. They seem to think that it’s OK if they are referencing something prior to our child’s coming out. In my heart and mind, this feels really hurtful, but I don’t know how to express my feelings in words. Can you help me articulate this? I’d really appreciate your input. TIA
