First Grader Transitioning mid-year during this coronavirus school break

Hello All I’m cross posting this here and in the transition threads

This exercise in social distancing and the promise of no school for at least 6 weeks has allowed my 6.75 year old child to come out as transgender (from previously identifying as a gender fluid boy who likes to wear dresses, but never dresses at school in the last year due to bullying a year ago) She’s changed her name and pronouns at home and is in the process of telling close friends and neighbors.

We go to a smaller private school with a progressive parent community that is fairly close knit and in communication during this break (although my child was bullied at this school last year). The kids are also somewhat in communication during the break through photo galleries and zoom calls.  I think the break provides an opportunity for us to send a short letter to the parents in class informing them of the name and pronoun change, and this distance will actually make coming out easier as it will give the parents a chance to have thoughtful conversations with their children at home. That said I’m not sure what to say and how much to disclose.  any advice from mid-school-year transitions for grade-schoolers would be helpful.
