My daughter told me about this web-based project to support the LGBT+ community during the holidays and asked if I would participate. “Your Holiday Mom” posts letters from mothers reaching out to people who have, for whatever reason, become estranged from their original families/communities. There is such an emphasis on family at this time of year that it can be frustrating or sad for people who feel they don’t have a home base — the Holiday Mom project aims to make it clear that we are all loveable, whoever we are and whenever it is.
They post on a daily basis until the first of the year — if you know someone who might need a lift right now, you could pass this web address on to them.
