Hormone blockers vs Depo-Provera to stop periods

My young teenage daughter is starting transitioning to male with wanting to stop her periods. (They are a big trigger for her.) The options were Lupron (blocker) vs Depo-Provera (progestin). Any experience with either? I am concerned about the potential for bone density issues later one with Lupron. But my daughter is concerned that the Depo-Provera is too unpredictable and sometimes does not stop periods. She is also concerned about the side effect of weight gain.
