Youth Programs
In-person and virtual programs for transgendered youth to connect with others like themselves.
Trans Youth Leadership Program
TYTAN (Trans Youth Taking Action Now)
When parents/caregivers become formal members of Trans Families, they and their trans/nonbinary child gain access to member-exclusive programming such as our youth leadership program, TYTAN (Trans Youth Taking Action Now).
Participants in the TYTAN program attend monthly meetings, produce and facilitate programming, and access other exclusive virtual and in-person events and opportunities to develop and hone leadership skills.
Youth Groups
Our youth gather to learn, talk, laugh, and share insights about their gender journeys. We use breakout rooms so everyone can have age-appropriate conversations about what’s going on in their lives. Sometimes there are games.
These groups are facilitated by trained trans adults and mentors, many of whom attended our groups when they were younger.

- Middle Schoolers – 2nd Sundays 1 pm PT / 4 pm ET (Discord)

Game Nights on Discord
A scheduled gaming hang out for youth on our private Discord server! We have a group of regulars who are ready to welcome more players.
Multiple times per month
Trans Families staff and teen leaders moderate a private Discord server for trans/nonbinary youth of our member families. Come join the fun! We’re talking about art, pop culture, and gaming, in addition to gender-related topics. To receive an invitation for your youth to join, email us at info@transfamilies.org.  Our server is only accessible to Trans Families youth whose parents have gone through orientation.
Youth Online Chat
Trans Families has a private access-controlled, moderated Discord server for our youth to connect outside our recurring monthly groups. The objective of the space is to give a low-barrier online space for trans and nonbinary youth to make connections over conversation with other trans youth. Members connect about social, medical, legal, advocacy and dating topics. Of course, music, memes, movies and games are also regular topics.
Our private server is moderated by staff and trans youth to ensure that it is respectful, and that the information shared is accurate. To receive an invitation for your youth to join, email us at info@transfamilies.org.  Our server is only accessible to Trans Families youth whose parents have gone through orientation.
