New Beginnings, New Blog!
Hello, Trans Families!
Welcome to our new blog. So far, 2020 has been a difficult and stressful year, but our goal at Trans Families of supporting families in their walk with their trans kids has never changed. In fact, this year has provided the chance for us to renew our commitment to meeting parents where they are — in your homes and online.
You might have noticed that we have been going through some changes in recent months, and adding a blog as another way to connect with you is our next step. We are excited to launch our blog today, at the beginning of LGBTQ History Month. We have a long history ourselves, having served families through support groups since 2008, and look forward to many more years of service to our community.
So what we will be doing on the blog?
This will be our space to share uplifting stories with you. We’ll highlight positive and affirming media…tv shows and movies, books, podcasts, and articles that show the diversity of families with transgender or gender expansive children and provide us with new Possibility Models. We will have guest posts from some of our trusted experts and partners, and families who have attended our annual Gender Odyssey Conference. Our main goal is to offer you a chance to see yourself and your family reflected in personal posts about raising a remarkable child, even if that sometimes comes with some struggles.
We hope that this will be an inspiring place for you to visit a couple of times a week and that you’ll engage by leaving comments. You can start now by telling us what you’d like to see on the blog!
From all of us at Trans Families, thank you for being part of our family.
